I had both the evosport shorties with a tune and then the Kleemann long tubes with a tune from Jerry on my C55. The Kleemann LT's with the removal of the primary cats made the largest useable difference. In my opinion, those or the MBH LT's are the best options out there. The single greatest improvement however, comes from the removal of the primary cats -- those OE cats are truly restrictive with the OE headers running a close second.

I really like the idea of bolt on so in the future if I decide to sell the car I can always return it back to standard.

I'm not going all out on modds, a simple re-map with AMS headers should give about 30+bhp

I sent AMS another PM on here, hopefully he will get back to me this time...

With ort long tubes and a tune we get in the area of 50whp. Pending on your budget and power you want there are a bunch of options.
How much less than $3,000.00 are your longtubes? I assumed they are $2,900.00 + tax should be rounded to 3k ? Do they require welding or will it mate to my secondary?

That's allot for just bolt on headers don't you think?

I know an MB tech who can do it, I asked him to give me a price... now i'm just waiting for him to get back to me with a price.

is that paying the shop directly or the tech directly? if its a shop 6 hours labor for that price is pretty good.

Every header I've seen goes in from under the car. there is some top end working though. We remove the coil packs off the valve cover so you can get to the pesky bolts. On some cars a motor mount is loosened, but you still go in from the bottom. What gobbles up most of the install time is getting to those hard to reach bolts. It is common for the header studs to come out when you are loosening the nuts. Sometimes they just don't want to come off and the whole stud comes out. No big deal they go right back in, no problem.

thank you for the info. a shop is doing it (the shop owner is my tech) i love your long tube headers very much and they are hands down my dream product, but dammit they're just out of my price range. maybe when i get my sl55 or e55

I was thinking of getting LT's and high flow cats, and thermo wrapping if available, how much do you think that is?

I think ECU and Chipping should be done last, after all mods are installed and done. And after you install drive the car a few miles so the ecu adjusts

You dont need to wrap our headers. Stainless steel is a poor conductor of heat so there really is no need to wrap or coat our headers. Most of the heat is kept inside the header rather than spilling it all over the place like a mild steel header will. I'll send you a PM

Why would they? They don't touch the cats or O2 sensors.
