Hi Fellas

As per title, every time I start the car there is this ticking noise, lasts for about a 60 secs & then no more untill the next time I start up.

Noise is coming from behind the center dash area?

Any ideas welcome

search should have yielded many results for this topic.

Anyways, it's definitely the fan stepper motor arm. The "ticking" noise is the plastic gear slipping off the stepper motor arm. I've had this problem since I purchased my car last year. I haven't bothered to fix it as the labour to replace it is quite extensive. The parts itself are about $100. Labour you're looking at anywhere from 6-8 hours since the entire dash had to come apart. Basically a failed stepper arm means you can't redirect air to different places. Mine happens to be stuck on the driver side to blow at my feet which is quite useless. Anyways, if yours are stuck at the vents, I would leave it.
