C32 Baseline dyno Eurocharged remap
Done on a dynapak which usually shows lower numbers. This is a dyno that connects directly to the hub. Supposidely better than a dynojet for reasons I do not understand. Anyways, temp was 30 degrees celcius and quite humid. For comparisons sake, a BMW E46 M3 with exhaust, chip and intake dyno'd at 260WHP on this dyno last week in the same conditions. My car just has the standard Eurocharged remap (without the raised rev limiter), K&N drop in filters and plug and wire upgrades. I'm doing a baseline because I'm getting a 178mm ASP installed soon.
Results were 298.6WHP and 289.5lbs*ft torque. Just shy of 300WHP. My car was somewhat heatsoaked. The IAT's were at 54 degrees and ECT was at 94 degrees. I have a Dashdaq data logger. My tuner/fab said had it been a bit cooler I would have broken 300 no problem. I'd expect a dynojet to show 310-315ish or more WHP. As I've said dynapaks consistently show lower numbers than other dynos. The most important thing is to do dynos on the same dynos and similar conditions. Unfortunately, never got the chance to dyno before the eurocharged remap, so I'll never know what kind of differences the tune made. Wideband has yet to be installed, so no Air/fuel data either. I will however have the wideband hooked up before I attempt to dyno with the ASP pulley. The main reason for the dyno was actually to test whether or not the car would heatsoak after multiple runs. That would be the determining factor of whether or not I get the ASP pulley. It just doesn't make sense to me to run higher boost on a motor that already has heatsoak problems. After 3 runs, short 10 min break and another 3 runs, there was no sign of heatsoak. I produced consistent numbers each time. I couldn't dyno in 3-4th gear as the transmission kept kicking down. I dyno'd in 2nd gear but my guy said it's fine as dynapaks compensate for different gear ratios. Dyno mode was on.
My target with the ASP 178mm pulley will be around 320-330WHP.
