Question Supercharger Protection Mode - What temp?

Does anyone know what temperature needs to be hit for the Supercharger in our C32's to shut off and go into protection mode?

Wow that low. Thank you so much.

So would it be safe to assume that if the coolant temp (IE temp shown in the hidden AC menu) hits 95 the SC will shut down? Or is that control by the Ambient Air Flow Sensor?

Not sure if you noticed, it was 93C which is about 200F. That's not low. IAT sensor is used to communicate this to the ECU.

No. ECT ≠ IAT

Exactly. Repeated pulls into the fun zone seldom exceeds 160° Fahrenheit when the intercooler circuit is functioning properly.

Different figures.. your coolant can be at 100C and your intake temp could be as low as 25

95% of the time if the SC is cutting in and out it is your pump gone faulty and thus the SC clutch cuts it out as a safety precaution.. I'd say most of us on here have had to replace our intercooler pump at one stage or another.

No doubt. In fact I just replaced it about 6 weeks ago. However I've had issues with the engine bogging down when pressing on the peddle under 45% or so. While I'm not 100% sure it happens most often when its hot outside.

My theory was that perhaps my car motor was getting to hot and was causing the SC to shutoff even with the new pump. Temps have been around 100F out here. Turns out though that probably isn't the case. Which means back to square one

Get a OBD2 based data logger. Carchip or iPhone based. It's essential with FI high performance cars.

when crusing at amb. temps of 25-30C my IAT's are 45-53C and my ECT 89-95C. IAT's rise quickly when you're at WOT. They will easily get in the 70's. Even at the track, my ECT's rarely exceed 100C. The S/C shut off is based only on IAT's, not ECT.

My brother is a mechanic and has the OBD2 data software on his laptop. I'm going to cruise over to his place to more and run the car around town. We'll see what the numbers say.
