C55 Steering wheel panels (for buttons)

I want to remove the two left and right panels on the steering wheel that have the volume, skip, and menu buttons. Are they held in by clips? They have little play, and i dont want to break them

I know in the C32 there are two torx screws, don't remember the size, that hold in the airbag and the steering wheels buttons. Once you remove those you can get everything off, remember to undo the battery terminals if you decide to unplug the steering wheel otherwise you will get the srs warning on the dash that can only be removed by star.

This.

be SURE the battery is disconnected the SRS light and warning is a pain if you forget. If you're just messing with the controls on the wheel you shouldnt need to completely disconnect the air bag, the wires should be long enough to move it out of the way to give you access to the wheel controls.
