17"s on front, 18"s on rear - bad?

Would this cause issues with the odometer or speedometer? I have one of my stock rims cracked and need to replace it, but I was thinking of buying a pair of 18"s instead of a single 17" to use drag radials during the summer. Assuming no huge road trips, would this work out?

As long as the aspect ratios are correct to match front and rear diameters, I don't think there would be any issues. I have heard that mismatched overall diameters can cause issues with the cruise control...perhaps folks who have drag setups can chime in.

For the drag strip, you want smaller rear rims size with a taller side wall.

Alternatively, would two separate pairs of 17"s with different weights cause any issues?

Other than a possible appearance issue, you should be fine.
