Mercedes-Benz C55 AMG
Actually, it appears to be apples to apples. No one is comparing track times, handling, or anything other than bhp or torque.
Original statement still holds true, Bimmer V8 is producing more power NA than MB NA V8s, plain and simple (unfortunately). Take the "car" out of the picture.
BMW's M Gmbh NA produce more hp but the MB AMG NA engine produce more torque.
Horse Power sells cars, but Torque win races !! ,
the BMW's M Gmbh have had the advantage to have 6-speed manual, and for that have been able to cach up with AMG parformance (no talking about handling {chasis}, just engine outcome)
Hey CoryU!!,
you are right, not only tq/(lb) or hp/(lb) also $/(hp) and $/(tq) are a factors too. The E and 5 series have a premium $, and that $ may be use to get more hp or tq or decrease lb to get better outcome in some cases
