C32 vs Cobalt SS vs R6

Wasting some time on a near quarter mile strip. Running pump gas 91 octane in the C32. The SS is fully bolt on modded turbo at 25PSI max, and was running E85. R6 was modded as well. Ended up last by about a car length SS pulling up in top end towards the end. R6 at least four car lengths... Fun though!

Dude the fastest of all Cobalts on Dragtimes is a 12.59 at 109. No reason he should beat you in that Cobalt. The R6 (I've owned one) should have beaten all of you by MUCH MORE than 4 car lengths. That's a legitimate high 10s, low 11 second bike.

Think something is wrong with my car... I noticed some belt slippage before the race. Charge pump might be going as well. SS guy claims 350HP 380TQ to the wheels on dyno. The R6 was slower because of the altitude 5000+ft.

350 to the wheels on a Cobalt SS with bolt-ons?? I watched the race and there's no way. 350 to the wheels would put that guy in the 12s.

Perhaps your car has a SC belt issue and its slipping and you're not getting full boost. Check your Johnson/Meziere as well, thats usually one of the first things to go bad, always after the car heats up.

It was out of town Juan, but these guys down to race anytime. I want to get Chris with his Crossfire, and you as well for next run. We'll figure it out, LOL... Sucks I can't hit up the dragway anymore with the new job. You ever go back for some runs?

Impressed by SS... I thought u would powned em..

Can't really win against 600cc bikes from drag.. However, rolling maybe a different story.. R6s are extremely slow after 120-130mph (if I remember correctly)

I have belt slip (chirp when s/c cuts in etc) I sourced a gatorback belt (not yet installed) but noticed last night Needswings has updated their website with pulleysaver kit (http://www.needswings.com/Pulley-Sav...-pskc32c3.aspx) for the smaller pulleys i.e; EC 65mm. Anybody running the EC sc 65mm pulley with this kit? I know it is benifical with the larger pulleys... Any opinions on this one?

I had belt slippage previously but I installed a 100mm aluminum aftermarket pullet and gator back and now have no issues. @Matt still haven't made out back to the drag strip but I'm down to meet up with you guys and run em.

They have done it for a while but did not have it on the website. They also do it for completely stock systems. This is a good idea since pulleys can go out even on a stock system. It is not a bad idea on the higher mileage cars to replace the bearings also.

People seem to think just cause a motorcycle stock is capable of low to mid 10s runs that every owner can do it...remember those times are a professional rider on a closed "great condition" circuit. I do feel the C32 should have got 2nd easily. But things can be wrong and not known.
