For those who want serious stopping power (14.2” front rotors, 8 piston calipers) and who have deep pockets... Price: $4,995

a land yacht.
from what I've heard/read the 8 piston calipers are pointless. It adds too much unsprung weight to the car and actually hinders performance. So in that case 'bigger isnt better'. I think even the Brembo GT kit for our cars are only 4 piston front

Too much weight and rotating mass to slow down.

Also to push an 8 pistion you would need to change the brake booster etc... to get enough pressure to make them effective and not damage the existing system.

That is true. Depends on the persons budget, and preference on used vs. new. I'm the type of person that prefers new even if it cost a bit more for that piece of mind.

However for a bit more than a used setup you can get the entire CLK63/SLK55 030 performace package (6/4 pot) and its brand new so you wont need to worry if it needs a rebuild like a used set. Most of us try to DIY on our cars and a rebuild if needed can be difficult with out the right tools.

ya well i dont consider a "bit" more to be anything near $1000, lol and thats for the front rotors alone...not too mention how much more the set is to begin with...but replacing/resealing calipers isn't hard...i didn't do it personally to mine, but i did it to a set of 4pot AMG calipers awhile back...

also the BREMBO GT come in both 4pot and 6pot fronts w/ only a $200 price difference
