purchasing C55 with accident history?

purchasing C55 with accident history?
I own a 07 CLK 550 and I am thinking of moving to a four door. Love the C55 amg's and there happens to be an 05 for sale at the local Benz dealer. 52K miles, clean exterior as well as interior. I'd give it a 8 out of 10. Only problem is it has a ding on the carfax. Stated it was hit in the rear. Don't know whether it backed into someone or someone ran into it. I test drove it and even though my car has 20 more horsepower, I am really impressed. Price started out at 22, 9XX, but now the're offering it to me for 19,750. When I test drove it I didn't look at the Carfax because I was just testing the waters. He has been calling me back everyday trying to unload it, now I know why. I'm thinking about stalling him untill the end of the month low balling him just to see how bad he wants to get rid of it. Question, would any of you even consider purchasing this car with a accident. I know if I do trading it in on something else in the future is out of the question.

^^^ What Kuzni asked, clean title? If nothing else, you have a great bargaining chip...I paid $19K for my '06 with 73xxx miles.
I assume this is the '05 Granite Gray...FYI, if you look at the pics, something is up with the front center mesh. I will check tis out as well. Didn't really pay a lot of attention to details because I just wanted to get the feel of the car and wasn't really serious about purchasing it. I will take a closer look. Thanks
