Brake noise after rains

06 C55 @ 41k miles. Few days ago, I parked the car in the garage after driving home in some heavy rain. Few days later, it has started to make a loud humming/grinding noise when braking. It's not quite as harsh as a grinding noise - but definite easily audible noise on moderate braking (half pedal). I figured it was rust or grime, so I shot some CRC brake cleaner on all four rotors but still doing it this morning.

Anyone know if these are symptoms of worn pads? I am assuming our cars have some sort of pad wear sensor? Nothing has lit up on the console so far and there is no pulsing/vibration on the pedal leading me to believe the rotors may not be shot.

Any suggestions?

Not that you can tell too much from iphone photos, but here are some shots from last night anyway.

you can see how much rotors are worn by taking your finger and sliding towards one of the edges... if the edge is sharp, the rotors are pretty worn.

as far as i know there's no pad wear sensor...?

hope this helps

Thanks AMG Sleeper. I might actually just jack the car up and take off the pads to inspect. Since it occurred right after the rain, I am thinking if the anti-seize/lube on the back of the pads has been washed away. Is there some special anti-size that people recommend or would any generic "disc brake quiet" work?

Guys, I wanted to post up an update to my brake job. I changed front pads and rear pads (akebono Euro) but the noise didn't go away. So I went ahead and replaced the front rotors too (Belo? Looks like OEM, got from autohausaz). The rotors were seized on as expected and hammering didn't work. I didn't have a bolt long enough for the "bolt trick" either. I ended up wedging a pry bar between the caliper mounting bracket and the rotor and just prying it off - came off pretty easily after soaking in PB blaster for a few minutes. Took a short test drive and noise seems to be gone! $340 for a complete brake job (except rear rotors) is not bad!

Thanks for all your help.
