Cm30 pump replacement, need drain the whole coolant system?

Cm30 pump replacement, need drain the whole coolant system?
My Bosch pump was gone and planned to replace tomorrow
Everything, tools and CM30 pump were prepared. Just want to know if I can block the water hose immediately to replace the pump rather than drain the whole system?
Any advise?

I don't have a C32, but I do have a Johnson water pump in my supercharged S2000. If I had to replace it, I would do what ou described as opposed to draining the system completely. Why make more work if you don't have to?

take 2 pair of vise grips and pinch the hoses at the pump and swap it out. lose less than a couple ozs.
something else, the cm30 has no plug on the end. i removed the broken pump and tore it apart removing the plug end from the end of the broken pump. theres a small capacitor on it i replced it with a new one and soldered the bosch plug onto the end of the cm30 and using heat shrink insulated the plug. now its plug and play
