Just wondering if you guys who has the C32 ever considered the 210 E55 when you guys purchased the car. When I got my C32 I was kinda hoping that I could find a 2000 or perhaps a 01 at cheap. I'm glad that I didn't search for the E55 tho because I really like the way the C32 looks and perform and it's just the right size for me to haul my friends around. It's also suitable for my age.

BUT sometimes I wonder what if...lol V8 sound's very tempting everytime I heard my friend's 208 CLK55's engine.

I was in that position. Originally was looking for the C32 but after test driving it the interior just looked pretty cramped for me. Guess i'm a pretty big person?

W210 E55's V8 doesn't sound as aggressive as the W208 CLK55, it is very subdue. I love the sound of CLK55! Unless my E55 has a malfunction!

I considered it a few years ago, when i was shopping for a new car, i looked at the C43, and they had an E55 at the showroom, sat in it, but never test drove it, at the end I ended up buying an M3, the main reason was i did not want four doors, look at me now

Wow, i just wrote a pretty big run on sentence

didn't know the 210 E55 sounds different than the 208 CLK55. Could that be because of the exhaust differences?

Maybe it does. I can't compare to a CLK55, but my E55 is plenty loud and aggressive, especially over 3K rpms. Almost too loud. I often get shocked looks from my neighbors as my car comes howling down the road. That V8 roar and rumble is definately one of the things I love most about it.

But to Frank's question, yes I also looked at the C32, in fact my original intent was to get one. It's sportier and cheaper. But I had always wanted the E55. Ultimately, I went with my heart and the E55 was the right choice for me. I'm an older guy, and the road presence of the E and S class is just more my style. The C is just too entry level for me (No offence to you C lovers.) But the wife still rags on me, calling my car an old man's car.

I honestly have never given the C32 a second thought since. It was only after seeing your post that I remembered I was originally thinking of getting one.

it's all good because all of us C32 a 210 E55 owner know that the W211 E55 AMG is what we dream about when we go to sleep... well, that or the SL55. lol...

btw, I saw one/211 e55 when I was at the dealership yesterday (i was getting my cd changer fixed). It just slowly went by and circle to the back of the service building. I guess they just got the car or preparing it for the owner to pick it up. I couldn't stop staring till it was out of my sight.

I'm driving my dream car already! I bought my E55 new, and could buy a W211 E55 if I wanted one. But I'm not sure what my next car will be, I'm still having a blast with my current one, and have dreams of nothing else for now...

Here you go. There's another shot in the E55 picture thread, as somebody else wanted to see Ruby too.

mikE55, if you had got the C32 she would be saying you were going thru a 'mid life crisis'.

I also think the New W211 is nice, however, I will not consider it until after the mid model update and the reported n/a 6.3 liter 4 valve direct injection V8 engine coming in 2-3 years.

I am fortunate enough to own both and compare them, the CLK55 gives a deep and menacing growl when I start the car and resemble Corvette's V8. Maybe it is the exhaust or better sound insulation for the E55, the E55 is quieter. However, I am bring my E55 in for a check up in a couple of week. My exhaust makes a humming noise between 60-70 MPH and the engine makes a very faint whining noise during acceleration. I will ask them to check everything and make sure everything is up to par.

Hey mikE55,

I love your leather combination. My next car will have ruby leather too, maybe a M5

I thought about the older e55 (00-02) but it didn't seem to have much more space in the back and I was leary of them holding thier value...

They are sweet cars though...
