A/C Compressor failing
I have done A/C compressors on old domestics and Japanese cars, Just wanted to see if there are any gotcha's to doing it yourself.
Shop quoted $1500 said it is a 30 min job. I have an A/C vaccuum pump, and what not. just wanted to see if i could run into issues with the A/C computer or anything. I can get the parts (compressor, evaporator, expansion valve)from autohauz for around $500 total.
Thanks,
Jeff

I searched to see what the model our compressor is, take in mind I was searching for the C32, but I'm hoping the C55 has the same compressor. I noticed that a lot of mercedes models use the same one. Well, the model I came up with is the denso 7SEU16C.
I found this exploded diagram of the compressor, use the search function and put in 7SEU16C and it will come up.

I found the seal kit for denso 7SEU16C - $18

It's doable if you have the time. Doing a bit more work and it looks like the C55 may have a different compressor. If you can find the compressor model, then you could probably rebuild it. Hopefully my research will be helpful for a C32.
Did some more searching and it looks like the model for the c55 is denso 471-1579
and for the slk32 is denso 471-1478

Basic run down of the rebuild process. Seems fairly straightforward. From my experience, the design of these things don't change much
