It's always nice to read these old reviews and be reminded of what awesome cars these were, in their day.

The sad part is realizing just how far the HP wars have come in the last decade, leaving the C32 in the dust.

I still love driving mine though. It will hit 100K miles later today or tomorrow.

Old yes, but I still love it. Performance wise, the new C63 is a beast. But I don't think we are totally dusted by any means. I am still the 0-40 champ. Sure, most others don't know we're racing.. but thats not my fault.

Time for mods? I ran E92 M3s couple of times with positive results for the C32 (I walked them from 50 on). I would love to run a C63, but I suspect the C32 will get smoked.

Just my opinion, I wouldn't say HP wars, the C63 only has an extra 70kw or so which isn't heaps and it weighs more. Stock for stock sure its faster, but if you just want to keep up with newer stuff then a few bolts on's and a tune and you are away. Our cars can potentially do sub 5 seconds stock. At this level its more about the traction than power. Newer BMW's etc have much higher HP but they weigh heaps as well and they are still front engine RWD which again has traction limits.

Neat article!

I continue to be impressed with how well the performance of the M112 has aged... As the guy above me stated, you're like 2-3 bolt-ons away from being "competitive" with many of today's high-performance cars.

I'm forever grateful to the C32 and SLK32 for passing down their motors to the SRT gang.
