This is going to sound like a silly question but i'm a fanatic for attention to detail. I hate the sound of the W203 interior chime and am a huge fan of the W220 sound. Has anyone installed this "chime" in there car? Is this possible what makes the chime?

You mean like the beep sound when you leave the headlights on or the key in the ignition? How is it different on the W220?

Yeah the seat belt chime I guess it is, the 203 is a annoying beep where the 220 sounds nice, haha call me crazy but I actually want to do this.

Alright, well I couldn't tell you if there's a separate module or something that makes the noise. Maybe someone else will know for sure. I know in newer GM vehicles, the chimes come through the left front speaker through the radio and can't be changed.

It's probably a chime box somewhere in the dash. Sure sounds like a lot of work for little benefit.....

it's really easy to change the sound when entering the car, just make sure you have a large burrito with extra refried beans. then go for a drive....on a more serious note, I hated that beep and had the dealer disable it. I thought I was the only one that got annoyed by it...we should form a club or somethin'
