C55 coolant leak... help
Hey guys, hope someone here can help me. So today I noticed a coolant leak its leaking by the drain plug but I don't thing its the drain plug as I see some coolant leaking down the radiator but can't see where from. No my question is does the trans get affected by the leak? Iv noticed that it seems like it slips or has loss of power. I have no codes POP up or overheating. The trans slipping is very strange to me, are they connected somehow??

Wow, my c-55 also just started leaking antifreeze from the radiator on the left side, the whole underneath of engine compartment = mess and the smell of evaporating antifreeze is horrible. just hit 100k miles recently and im going to have a local shop see what they can do by taking it out to see the problem closer. hopefully no need to replace!!! idk yet (transmission not slipping for me, exept once when i drove it manual for a littlebit. maybe it was a bad shift)

trust me when i tell you, don't be too proud. if you C55 has a hose with a hole in it, you are not too good to seal a hose with duct tape until you can have it replaced. i don't care how rich you are, replacing a cracked block from an over heated radiator sucks all the same

think I have a slight leak on the drivers side. question I have is when I replace the rad, how do I refill the trans to the correct level? I know I will loose whatever fluid is in the the transcooler.

I believe u need a dip stick. I had mine replaced by a MB mechanic as a side job and he just used the one from his work.

I have experienced what I feel is a subtle transmission slip or hesitation when cold especially, and even when the engine is fully warm at WOT. It seems that my 55 doesn't want to shift from 1st to 2nd and just lazily engages 2nd with about half the power it had, and then picks up again.
Backstory though, I did have my radiator replaced by the dealership last week at a pretty low cost with warranty. I live in Northern VA and we went from about 20 degrees outside to 70 the next day. It was a pretty drastic change so I figure it could have wreaked havoc on my cooling system.
So do I need to fill/top off my transmission fluid or my coolant because of the radiator change?

Have u done the trans reset trick? That might fix the lazy shifts.

And I have not done the trans reset, did not know about it, are you referring to the ECU reset?
