More starting problems
I guess this must be the week of difficult starting. So, here is my problem. I have 05 C55 that all summer long started to get difficult to start when hot. Behaves has if is not getting gas. Battery and started work fine. Today while at a stop light while idling it just died. Started again and then died again while idling. This time would not start. Pushed it to the side and got a ride home thinking I would have to get it towed. Then, at a hunch I went back to it several hours later and it started fine although now the check engine light is on. To recap, it starts when cold, will not start when hot. Starter turns, battery is good.
Any ideas before taking it to shop.

Could quite possibly be your CPS (crankshaft position sensor) failing, about $40 for the part.
Car starts up no problem when cold, cranks when hot but doesn't start. If it fails to start again, you could try pouring cold water on the CPS and if it starts, you've got confirmation it's the CPS.
