05 C55 Bluetooth Issue with weak static reception on other end
I bought my '05 C55 in Summer 2006 with a Bluetooth module installed. At that time, my cell was a MB recommended Motorola 610E (I think that was the model #). The majority of my telephone calls got complaints that there was too much noise on the other end.. "sounds like you got a window or sunroof open." I complained many times to my service advisor at Caliber Motors (Anaheim) and they said that it appears to be working ok and that maybe it was the cell phone.
After numerous complaints over the next 18 to 24 months to the same advisor, I called MB New Jersey and also explained the problem and they got in contact with my service advisor and manager. Another round of testing was done and to no avail. The MB New Jersey guy said that I should get another cell phone and I purchased, at his recommedation, the Blackberry Storm 9550 that was on the approved MB cell phone list. After buying the phone it wouldn't pair with my car even after my service advisor tried as well. Because of MB's cell phone recommendation, they exchanged my Bluetooth Module and the phone did pair but still had the same bad reception even after another round of tech testing at a new MB dealer in Riverside Ca.
Now the car's out of the extended warranty and I'm at wits end. Over this X'mas, I explained my problem with a friend who has an Apple i4s and he paired it with my car but still the static problem exists.
Has anyone had a similar issue that was solved and how did you do it?
Thanks.....

I don't really know what weak static reception is, but noise could be caused by a faulty microphone. There are ways to calibrate it I believe by a tech, if not replace it. Only problem is it's integrated into the mirror assembly and very expensive. Car phones usually don't have great quality, I often have people having hard times hearing me I usually have to talk louder in the direction of the mic. I don't really have static issues though.

I'd look there also. The sound quality on mine with the old larger BT puck is cleaner than the wife's new Audi.

Thanks for the advice, guys....I've registered with jbondox and waiting for their reply so I can post my bluetooth issue with them.....
By the way...I have both MB bluetooth modules with the first one being the "longest" and the most recent new module being the "shorter" version. Both were installed and possess the same static issues.
Hopefully, someone at jbondox may have a solution but still utilizing the existing bluetooth module in the car.
If anyone's interested, I'd like to sell the "longer" MB Bluetooth Module version. Please email me at rgw-jr@msn.com.

Hi Guys, thought I'd bring this one back to see if there's any new information as I have the same issue in my 05 S430. Any updates that we can try so we can use bluetooth again?
Thanks!
Thanks!
