Decat Info
Hi Guys,
Just need some infor on doing a decat.
I am planning on doing a decat just wanted to know a few things.
I see alot of guys doing secondary cat removal anyone do the primary and what is the reason for only doing secondary?
Also someone mentioned I should do decat before 150k milage because you can damage your motor. I am on 83k mileage. Will this pose any problems with the motor?
Resonator del: what is your guys take on this? Good or bad or difference in performance or mainly for sound.
I have a 2003 C32 Amg. No mods yet. Planning to software tune after the decatting.

What are you going to do about the engine codes? Do you have emissions testing in your state? My opinion is you might as well leave those in there and remove everything else if you want pipe-back.

The resonator delete is mainly for the sound. The removal of the secondary cats will not give you a CEL. The removal of the primary cats will give you a CEL but there are easy ways to deal with it. My recommendation is that you first remove the resonator. Then get yourself a set of headers. Then take a some time to see how you like it and only then concider removing the cats and doing anything else to the exhaust.
