I can relate to those things, the auto transmission logic and the traction control were the main reasons I traded mine in although I never tracked it. Still its hard to beat for a touring car.

Yes, the traction control is the worst. Can't tell you how many times it's cut all power when I needed some, causing a close call. Unless the weather is bad it gets turned off before I remove the car from Park.

2006 C55 AMG
I tracked my c32, i had pss9 coilovers and sway bars, it handled great on track, lots of oversteer, i can tell you that c55 is far superior track car than c32, traction control is tuned down on c55, lets you really oversteer, but one thing that will fix these cars is LSD.
