is it gonna replace the c32 or just another higher model of c class?

probably just a higher end model. special vehicle from the information from that site that had the C55 video with no sound.

It will replace the C32.

It will arrive in the US in the fall of 2004 as a 2005 model.

The acute case of elephantitis of the horsepower that's gripped Mercedes' product planners and engine builders will soon give the little C-class sedan some serious fever. In late summer or fall of next year, Mercedes will introduce a C55 AMG model. To replace its apparently too winpy supercharged, 349-hp V-6 C32 AMG model. At the heart of the new hot rod will be the same 5.4 liter, three-valves-per-cylinder V-8 that sees duty in everything from the E55 AMG to the SLR super car. The version in the C-class will, however, be naturally aspirated - so don't expect 500-or-so supercharged horses; a guesstimate of 365 seems reasonable."

.....C55 just like the E55 without the SC, well kind of like a girlfriend without the sex. 16HP, YAAAWN. Drive Vadim's C32 if you want a C with lots, lots more power.
