PTE cams?
I tried to PM this guy 'PTE'.
Seems that i can´t get it touch with him.
I am very very curios about the camshafts.
Anybody got data on the cams he sells for NA C55?
And main question, does he still sell them?
Rgds

He no longer has any in stock. I talked to him about them a little while ago. Your only chance to get some would be to find used ones. Or go with a slightly more mild cam and go with the Kleemanns.

I put kleemann cams in my c32 and was very pleased with them (I better be for $2,500) they even come with new rocker shaft bolts, and cam gear bolts. I know these are two totaly different beast but I figure any input could help. Oh, and if you plan on doing it yourself ebay has the cam wrench and line up tool, it realy is'nt that bad of a job if it's anything like a c32.

He had 2 100% new cam sets left as of last February when I picked up my crank pulley from him. Guess 55K guys grabbed them up.
As for the PTE/VRP cam specs, they have never been released. The most aggressive factory cams for us are the SLRs...(search for former member "C55 Asleep?"s posts) others have compared the SLR/55K/PTE-VRP's and the PTE/VRP cams appear to be the most aggrssive we have available. Like 91RS and mo01 say, looks like your best bet, now that all of the original production run appear to be gone, is to go Kleemann or SLR or wait for a set of PTE/VRP cams like I did.
Best of luck however you go!

Ahh.. too sad then.
But i´ve got an 'replacement' for PTE.
Theese ones:
http://imotecgmbh.de/LeistungsTeile/..._mercedes.html
they´ve got 260 duration in and 270 out.
and valvelift is 0.9mm at tdc
and total lift 11.0 mm.
Lobeseparation is 114 degree.
I found theese a bit more aggresive than Dr.Schrick and 'kleeman' and suitable for N/A engines, and maybe 'all out' compressorengines.

Wow Pat that looks AMAZING! ![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
I love how you painted it black along with valve covers etc. Looks really good. Interesting placement of the FPR. Did you run the return back to the stock line?
This was my old setup but now I have a bigger SC and the same blacked out theme as you. Needs a few more touches until the look is complete.

Your´s look pretty hardcore, Nice! ![Wink](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
I mounted the fpr there as i wanted to have more control of the fuel.
easier adjustment and quicker response on pressurealtering as a long vacuumhose all the way to the tank will have some 'reactiontime' due to friction inside the hose.
As you might figure i don´t run the kleeman setup with injectors and dc inverter.
I mounted a bigger fuelpump inside the tank and blocked off the std regulator in the tank.
I drilled a hole into one of the lids to be able mount new returnline that´s coming from the aeromotive fpr in front.
return line:

The fuelpump is a Walbro GST400 and will support fuel all the way up to about 800hp.

yes,, your´s a lot more 'classic' as i got this new mumbojumbo.
As i´m not going to compete in any dragracing i don´t need to have AN couplings everywhere.
I got this new hose rated for ~200psi as returnline and i´m using std feedline as ... feedline![Wink](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
I welded a couple of bungs into the fuelrail, one on each side and connected those to the fpr.
seems to work flawlessly, but i have only tested car for about 10minutes cause as we speak Sweden is covered in snow, so i have to wait until late march at least before i can have the car dyno´d.
I´m happy with 550-580hp in engine with the bost i´m running now, this because of std pistons.
This coming fall i will decide if i want to max out the supercharger or sell the car and buy an C63.
As maxing out i need to upgrade bottom end, a lot of money that i could spend on a c63

Since the last pic of enginebay was taken i have welded a expansiontank for the intercoolersystem, this to get it standalone from engines own coolingsystem totally.

as i got an uprated heatexchanger in front i got more water, i felt that an expansiontank was needed.
needed? dunno,,, but can never be wrong
