COMAND switching on then off
Hi guys, there is a thread like this where someone including myself asked a question but it came to a dead end and im sure someone here knows the solution
. I have an '06 C 55 and the cdc wasn't working so I pulled the cdc out to see if it was unplugged but just saw an orange wire connected then I pulled the fuses according to the fuse diagram and now when I put the command on the Mercedes benz logo shows for a few seconds then it switches off again. The guy by the workshop checked for me and the code error was 116 on a bosch machine. Is there something I must reset cause now the cdc still doesn't work including my radio and nav etc.

If you pulled the fuse that corresponds to CDC, put it back in. Make sure that is a good fuse. The orange cable that you see behind your CD Player is the fiber optic cable for your MOST network. MOST needs all components that are coded to be connected and form a ring. If the ring is broken, COMAND will not work.

I took the cdc out now and the orange fibre cable is taped, if I fiddle with it the comand works but the cdc doesn't work, must this optic cable be connected to the cdc in some or other way?

I would recommend that you connect the CDC and see if this solves the command problem. The MOST ring needs to be completed. Be careful with the orange cable. It is fiber optics and can not be bent.

I have read that the guys bypass the cdc to work the aux input? I see I have an aux input in the glove box but I would rather get the cdc to work as I don't drive the car daily so I don't need a ton of music. If I bought the connector at a dealer would I be able to join the fibre optics to the connector myself or is it a specialist job? (never worked with these before)
