C55 Longevity
Was wondering if someone could help me out with a dillema i have. I found a 2005 C55 which I would love to have, but it has approx 110k miles. He is asking around $11.4k for it and he has had major maintenance done on it in the past few months (please see link). He seems to be an enthusiast and one who has taken care of his car. I was originally looking for something that will last me a long time (5-6) years. I was wondering if this could possibly last me that long without any major breakdowns, I know maintenance is different.

If the car has been properly maintained and the seller has receipts to prove that then you should be fine. 110k miles is not that much when you really think about it. I expect any car I purchase to be able to do at least 200k miles before something serious happens. There are some higher mileage guys here

Of course you'd want to take it to a MB dealer or your Indy for a PPI. the "major" maintenance he lists are all normal things to be done in this car. Basically, this is a very solid vehicle if its well cared for. Being a single owner with service receipts would be a huge plus.
Do yourself a favor and download the service booklet from the mbusa website for this car. You can use this as a guide to see what services should have been performed and use it to see what will be due. What won't be there are things that are common with the C55 but which aren't expensive to fix either: crank position sensor (CPS), valve covers - nearly all eventually leak. Maybe he had them done when the plugs were replaced. tranny mounts, motor mounts and that's about it for the common stuff. This forum will help you immeasurably with any of the other small stuff that can be DIY.
