As stated the horn, wipers, cigarette lighter, and srs light (comes on then turns off) wont work for 2 minutes on start up. I checked the fuses in the engine bay driver side and the voltage on them would start low then slowly build to the proper voltage. Has anyone had this problem and would know how to solve it?

The SRS light is for child seat passenger but it goes away after everything else starts working. Not sure the relationship as it might not be related.

Could it be a bad power source? Front SAM? Bad ground? Where would you start.

 

Start off with testing out the vehicles main power source, the battery and alternator.. Sounds more like your alternator is going bad..

 

Cigarette lighter wiring smoked on one of my client's cars c-240 ....wife made the inflation of the dollar hit a new low by dropping a penny in the cigarette lighter ....damn penny what damage done now we need a wiring harness from the lighter to fuse block ...anybody can help on this one.... thank you

 

Checked my voltage and it was just barely over the bare minimum needed, not sure if it is close enough to effect just one section of my car though, it seems to me that everything would barely work if it was my alternator.

Could the front SAM that controls those devices have a bad coil or something to not let it charge up fast enough?

 

Personally I would just rewire it myself with some basic cable and use the old connections.

 

Mine is doing the exact same thing. I have a 2003 CL55 AMG. This all began after I installed an aftermarket stereo. At startup, srs light, low voltage to cigar lighter, no wipers and radio struggles to come on or stay on. Until the voltage increases and stabilizes. About 2 mins. 90% of startups. Please update..........
