Replacement TCU on C32
Hi,
The TCU of my 2002 c32 needed replaced because transmission fluid leaked into it. The replacement TCU I purchased is part#: A 032 565 32 32. It came from a 2004 c240. Can I simply install this part and be good to go, or will I need someone to program it?

TCU out of c240 has different software and would not work. Contact Eurocharged or a tuner of your choice and ask them if they can load the correct software. Why didn't you just buy a C32 TCU?

What is your location? I think you should be able to use the TCU you have and load new software but you should ask the tuner. That's the only answer that matters. They will also tell you how much it will cost you.

I live in Akron, OH. If possible I'd pay to ship it out and have someone put the correct software on it. The shop I've been dealing with wants $250 just for installation. Probably more if they need to update the software.

Don't know where you are looking for the TCU but here is one for $125 shipped. http://www.ebay.com/itm/MERCEDES-W203-C32-AMG-AUTOMATIC-TRANSMISSION-CONTROL-UNIT-0325451232-/161272090015?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item258c90cd9f&vxp=mtrJust double-check with Potomac that it came out of a C32, so that in case it doesn't work you can return it. They do make mistakes sometimes. $250 just for installation of a TCU highway robbery. It's a 5 min job. Lift the carpet in the front of the passenger area, remove a few nuts from the aluminum mounting plate and replace the TCU.

If you can't find a genuine TCU removed from a C32 you can always buy the folowing TCU's: 0305452332, 0305453032, 0325451232 and let someone with STAR to code it for C32
