Question air con question

All,

Hopefully the symptom I am describing is normal....

My temperature gauge is reading about 57 oF, and I turned the thermostat of both zones to around 75. But alas, for some reason, the middle vents (especially the one on the passenger side), blow out cold breeze while the far left and right vents blow out warm air. This is the case with either AUTO on or off.

Is this normal?

Thanks

Check to see if the little rotating knob between the two center vents is rotated to the bottom. Visually, the blue dashed line indicators only half appearing on the bottom portion. Other than that, also check the center dash vent (the one that looks like a speaker cover on your dash facing up. Just turn it off completely as it serves no purpose.

I have the same condition. Visited dealer twice, they said it is normal. MB desiged all center vents to not blow hot air onto your face, according to the dealer. Whenever I need higher temp, I just set the temp adjustment to HI, the center vents would blow warmer air.

really? in colder climates it does serve a purpose and a very good one at that. defrosting the front windows is a good feature in my view. i have that same problem with the middle vents its annoying because its freezing outside but the middle ones are cold air. The car still gets warm though.

it has a purpose..... leaving a thick residue on the windshield that you have to clean off or else you get this glare.
