Some TLC for the C32

Any general advice to refresh and maintain an old 02 C32? Previous owner didn't do many ks but then again didn't service every 12months either.

I've had the car a month and done the IC pump which was completely dead and all 4 shocks, front right was completely gone. Also did the idler pulley and a service A just to freshen her up until she ticks over to the service B in about 8000ks.

I've noticed hissing near the fuel pump once the car warms up and the car has that tranny jerk at 1500rpm in 2nd. Also has a very loud bearing noise which I'm assuming is the SC bearing. Noticed a thump sound when braking suddenly, assuming it's one of the mounts going out.

I've just ordered

2 Pierburg fuel pumps, feeder and main (rexbo)
Mahle fuel filter (RMEuropean)
TCC solenoid (RMEuropean)
2 x Lemforder engine mounts (AutohausAZ)
1 x Lemforder tranny mount (AutohausAZ)
12 x bosch platinum spark plugs (AutohausAZ)
NSK SC bearing (needswings)
IC isolation kit (needswings)

I've got a business trip to the states so I can save a crap load on shipping by picking them up locally. Is there anything else I should add to the list? I'm wanting to get the car driving nicely before I begin adding any mods.

You should check your transmission fluid for glycol contamination and if it's a Valeo, replace your radiator with w/a Behr. The OEM's in 2002 are prone to leak into the tranny fluid.

Thanks... Yeah already all over it had a shop check about 3 weeks ago, still waiting for the result. I'll be flushing the fluid when I do the solenoid. The behr is on my list once all these parts are in maybe do a great exchanger upgrade at the same time. Unfortunately it may be difficult to carry a radiator on the plane back to Australia lol.

Not sure how many miles you've got, but if you haven't inspected them already, check all of the control arm and sway bar bushings.

Other than that, sounds like you've got a solid handle on everything. Check the valve cover gaskets for any leaks as well.

She's done 130000 ks. Had all bushings checked and a few replaced with the new shocks and springs. I'll get the covers checked at the next service. Thanks for the tip mate!

No prob

The gaskets aren't too hard to replace yourself if you wanted to give it a try. Pretty cheap for the parts too. Just look around the head covers and see if there is oil residue, no need to pay someone to check it for ya.
