ECU problem, ecu could be wet or damaged.
If your ecu can be fixed it will need to be re-programmed.

Yea my friend had the same issue in his CLS, one shop replaced his fan it was like $700 and didn't fix the issue. I sent him to a friend of mine for a real diag and turned out he needed an ECU which we were able to get replaced under the extended emissions warranty.

You really need to have a dealer look at this. It could be a few things, and there is no way for you or anyone else here to properly diagnose it. Get it towed in.

PS if you've spent $150 at a dealer in the last 18 months, you get FREE tows through MB roadside program.

Definitely sounds like an ECU problem, I work for the dealership and have seen this with a few cars that were flooded.

I'm having the exact same symptoms right now but mine is due to an ECU flash gone wrong, if you have an OBD2 interface see if you can get a connection to the ECU, if you can't then that's a good indicator that it is indeed an ECU issue.

Also check if there is any moisture in the fuse box under the hood, that's where the ECU lives, you should also check all your fuses while you’re at it just to be sure.
