How to race?

Hey everyone, I know this may be a total noob question; but say for example you are sitting at a light and somebody pulls up to challenge you, what is the best, most efficient way to take off in our cars?

Practice, practice, practice.

S mode, ESP off is consistent. Don't load up the trans (hold the brake and give it gas) launch off idle so you don't overwhelm the tires. Those white lines at the intersection can cause you to lose traction.

To get very aggressive: S mode, ESP off but put in 1st gear and the car will force the 1-2, 2-3, 3-4 shifts. This eliminates an early shift due to wheel spin, gives firm shifts and you can still upshift/downshift manually if you want to.

Practice hard launches at a drag strip off a tree to get quick and consistent launches, or elsewhere.... The practice is knowing how to work the throttle to keep the power smooth and consistent even if wheel spin occurs. After the first couple hundred feet its all on the car....
