Hello,
I am hoping someone is able to point me in the right direction on this one...
Here is the situation: the interior dome light for my amg is staying on even when I am driving. It will not automatically switch off when in drive. It seems to be fine otherwise. In other words, when the switch is all the way to the right, it switches on automatically when I open the door and it also stays on for about 5 mins when I get out and lock the door. The only issue is that while on "auto" mode, it will not switch off when I put the gear in drive. It stays on while driving and will not shut off unless I manually switch it off (put switch all the way to the left). There is no flickering or hesitation for that light when it is on and I am driving (that is, even when I hit a bump or jar the car, it still stays on...). All the other lights are functioning properly (interior trunk light, glove box light, and licence plate lights are all fine). The only other light issue is that the back light illumination does not work at all for the blower switch on the main panel. Just in case there is a link to the door locks, I should mention that the doors automatically lock when I go faster than 10 km/hr (hard to go any slower than that with this car
.... But, the central door lock on the main consol panel does not seem to work because I cannot lock or unlock the doors from inside using that switch (actually, the switch seems to only want to work once during a car ride-- I can open the locks once while driving and after that, the central switch is ineffective). The only way to unlock the door locks after driving is to open the door using the inside handle...and the only way to unlock the trunk is to use the key fob button or put key in the lock when I want to unlock the trunk. Just in case it's related, the other issue is that the audible seat belt warning doesn't work (not that I'm complaining about that one because I always wear my seat belt anyway
).
Suggestions anyone? (other than manually turning the dome light off when I drive and switching it back on again after I park....)
I bought this car a couple of years ago and absolutely love it....except that I smooched the underside of the front spoiler a couple of times on those @)()@*^*&^ parking curbs so if anyone has a spare black one...
