Self-leveling headlamps & a few other things repaired
Took it in to have the headlamps checked out and had service "B" and some other things done.
1. Problem: Headlamps pointed down, and won't come up. Can barley see 10 feet past the hood at night.
Solution: Replace headlamp range adjustment sensor under warranty. Part# 010-542-77-17 / SENDER UNIT.
2. Problem: The key didn't want to come out of the IGN switch half the time. Had to shift back to D and them shove back to P a few times to get the key out.
Solution: Found binding. Replace park lock cable to the IGN switch. Part# 203-267-00-64 / WIRE CABLE
It worked perfectly for a couple of days after I got the car back but now the problem is still showing up, just not as often as before.
3. Had the "No Phone" screen removed.
4. Requested to set alarm so it chirps when you lock & unlock. Dealer said you can't make a Mercedes chirp. I told them to set it to the "Netherlands" setting. The service repost states: Unable to program. Guess I'll try a different dealer next time.
5. Told the dealer I purchased the 5-year paint warranty thing, and now after almost 2 years the paint isn't as smooth as before so... He said if I'm willing to fill out a M-B survey, he'll completely detail the car for free.
6. They forgot to reset the service computer. So it still shows 3500 miles to service "B" when I picked up the car. Wonder if I'll be able to get another service "B"?
The problems I had with this car wasn't anything major compared with some posts I've seen hare, but this is my second M-B (first one is a 99 E class, only 1 minor problem up to date) and it seems quality has slipped a bit. But I still love this car and probably will love it more when I get that stage 1 Kit put in.
