Getting Some C32 Bugs Worked Out at The Dealer...

Well, my dealer has had my 02 C32 for most of a week now. They've addressed the SRS and ESP error codes, done "service A", and the resetting side mirror module. The xenon light that went out came back on so I didn't mention that issue. They couldn't find the thumping noise coming from the rear suspension but they replaced the front sway bar bushings. Then on a follow up test drive, they heard the rear suspension noise. So now they been waiting on some rear sway bar linkage or whatever. I forgot to tell them about my collapsing rear sun shade but I never use it so it doesn't matter. I'm also looking into getting my ECU set up for the 93 octane instead of 91. Short of the issue with the rear shade, and the speaker cover on the driver's door that my shoe cracked, the car should be running tip top when I get it back.

People talk about the many MB issues they have in the newer vehicles, for the most part, these are one-time electrical affairs, once fixed they will never return. Also we see that MB is pretty thorough repairing problems, not too much "denial". I have a list of "bugs" too. Each visit I give the dealer the top few, and they always get them totally. Right now I also have a couple left for next time, but these are the ones I never cared about before.
But even the non important ones do make top of the list someday.

I'd forgotten to mention my rear sun shade problem but they found it during the quality control inspection. I told them to hold off on it until next time. They said it was an all day job to address it because of what has to be taken off to get to it. It looks like everything else including the ECU octane adjustment will be addressed.

What kind of loaner did they give you?

Don't forget to check your mileage when you get your car back. I have had issues with service people who have had my car for separate weeks at a time and I have caught them joyriding in my car.

They offered a loaner but we have an extra car for the next couple of weeks so the need wasn't there. The mileage looks okay but I can't say I remember the exact reading before dropping it off. I will note it on future trips to my dealer.

Brumos is an excellent dealership and seems like they are getting even better. They actually do everything good!
