Hi Mileage 2005 c55 questions?
I'm going to look at a high mileage 144k. That's in good running order. Owner say excellent condition. No warning lights on no issues. All Maintence complete.
Since I can't get a extended warranty to many miles. What should I look for. It was his wife's primary car.
If it's in great shape is $9k to much hi blue book is $8200 on kbb. But this is a rare car.
I'm am very capable mechanic have maintened vehicle with over 300k miles. So as long as I can fix most everything that comes up I'm good.
I have auto eginuity and use it on my diesel anyone use it on their Merc?
Any info is appreciated.

$9k??? I wouldn't sell mine for less than $15k! And I've got 154,000 miles...
Mine's fully loaded though and looks pristine as well. I say go for it and enjoy the car!

These cars are very low maintenance. At higher mileage I would say the smaller wear and tear parts will need to eventually get replaced, unless they have recently been, coil packs, valve cover gaskets, motor/tranny mounts, misc suspension bushings.

Indeed. Didn't mean to get off topic. I can turn a wrench or two, but an inspection from a mechanic is the best $100 you can spend. CPS, alternator, seat warmers, valve cover gasket, oil pan (my car had all these problems except for the seats @ 115K) are all the problems I can think of right now.

none... for now
Meh, $9k is an ok price. If you're willing to drive, and pay a bit more, you can snag a lot lower mileage one though. There are about a dozen nationwide from $11-13k with less then 100k miles. It doesn't matter what car it is, unless it has a laundry list of wear and tear items replaced, 150k miles is a tired car. That's not to say the drivetrain's shot, but don't expect it to handle like a magazine tested car. My mom's 95 E300D has nearly 360xxx miles, original... a lot of things, but man that thing struggles to stay together some days. No point in them selling it though.

Thanks for the info guys. I definitely going to stay away from the cl55 seems they can get crazy expensive to repair. I like them a lot but not looking for a complete money pit. Already have a truck I've modded past the point of intelligence.
