Bilstein Pss-9 vs. Renntech Springs vs. Carlson RS

Hi,

I was wondering if there are any owners out there who have the Bilstein PSS-9 installed.

I am basically right now a little on the fence as to what to get. My choices are Renntech Springs or the PSS-9 or the Carlson RS.

I was thinking that I would try the springs first see what that does to my car and then go with either the PSS-9 or Carlson RS.

However those springs are damn expensive

Can anybody who has either comment?

I do some autoX but not with my C32 however this year I want to do some track and some autoX with my c32.

Thanks.

Well,

Ideally I want coilovers but I am on the fence with my car being one of the more problematic c32's around. I was thinking of upgrading to the clk55 or the c55. If I can get away with being competitive with the Renntech springs this year that would be ideal. How much better are the coilovers than the springs?

BTW. Does anybody know if the coilover systems would also fit a c55 when it comes out?

Is anything changing that would prevent me from migrating my suspension, wheels and brakes to the new platform?

Thanks.

where can one get a hold of the Bilstein PSS-9 and Carlsson RS setup? also, how much does each one cost?

i was thinking about going H&R coilovers and sway-bars, mostly because it is the most cost-effective and the purpose of the C32 isn't for as much turning capability as an M3. most likely the Carlssons are out of my league price-wise, but do sound nice - if the PSS-9's aren't much more than H&R Coilovers/swaybars, is it worth the extra money? i've heard mixed reviews on H&R coilovers, but i'm guessing that H&R will be enough as it is not a track or race-car really. thanks.

As far as I know Harris is the only one that can get them. You should send him an email. As of now my dilemna is that I want the wheels and suspension at the same time. If I get the springs only I can afford nicer wheels. I am leaning towards the Bilstein's at the moment though. They are not that much more expensive than the H&R/Sway set up. The Carlson however is pretty pricey and I am not sure i will be able to afford that since I also plan on spending a pretty penny on some really nice lightweight wheels. I have heard from a couple of people that with the Bilstein the C32 handles as well as a e36 m3. This comment is from a previous m3 owner. I would be very happy with that for my 'daily driver'/ part time track car.

I don't plan on sway bars yet (and most of the people I have talked to tell me its not necessary with the Bilstein) but when I do the handling should improve even more.

With the right mods the c32 can be a pretty capable track car. It's chassis is remarkably good.
