Winter Tires Rule!!!
After reading many posts from this site and others, I installed winter tires this past December on my C32. I have to say, this is one of the best investments I've made. An inch or few of the white stuff falls and this car has no problems handling it. Just use Winter mode and a "smart" right foot. Most all conditions, uphill, highway ramps, light ice, freezing temps, etc., very stable, very confidence inspiring tires.
Oh yeah, the tires, Bridgestone LM-22's, 225 front, 245 rear mounted on the stock 17" AMG rims, works like a charm.
The only problem I've seen is a slight rubbing on the front side of the fender liner only at a certian angles. I guess the tread pattern is thicker, maybe that would account for their extra weight! But in this case, "form follows function". I'll be more concerned about unsprung mass in the springtime.

I just put a set of Michelin Pilot Alpins 225/45-17 and they are quite amazing in both the snow and dry. Obviously they are not as good at summer tires but the initial turn-in on the daily commute you'd never know the difference. With the weight of car and the snows this car is very stable through the heavy stuff.
