Replacement Bilstein struts - bump stop needed?
Greetings,
I am about to install Bilstein B8 Sport replacement struts (similar to the image below). Can anyone please confirm if I need to install a Mercedes bump stop? The struts come with boots but no bump stops and some reading on the Internet suggests that the struts are fitted with internal bump stops.

Wow, I have the exact same question! Tried installing new struts this weekend, but had to stop since the B8s only have that blue boot, but no obvious bump stop.

The scoop
Rahulio,
I just got off the phone with Bilstein technical support. They confirm no need for a bump stop. The representative described the design as "inverted" and said that the bump stop is located on the inside of the strut. You can install the strut as it comes out of the box.

bumping this thread as i am also in the process of installing B6s on my W204 C280.
i know this is the wrong thread but i hope to get answers for the same question as OP but instead for the rear shocks. to my knowledge, the OE bump stop and dust boot has been discontinued so i'm wondering if theres a need for those for the rear B6s?
