COMAND Won't turn on after Engineering mode

So I recently purchased an 08 G Class COMAND to utilize the back up camera and the MP3 capability.

After installing my "timeset" feature was inoperable under SYS and I could not set my time to match GPS as it was defaulted to the Midwest Timezone for some reason.

So I attempted to see if I could reset it in the engineering mode and well that did not go so well.

I ended up in a screen resolution screen where it showed the color gradient from black to white and I couldn't figure out how to get out of there. I pressed some button (I think it was the mute button) and it shut the COMAND down and now will no longer turn on.

Besides being a retard does anyone have any fix ideas or experience with this?

I also ask that you keep the negative criticism to a minimum as I already am well aware and frankly it helps no one. Plus I just spend $900 on this so I am already a little peeved.

Thanks!

Haha. NVM got into my car last night after work and decided to give the power button another shot and voila. It all the sudden decided to turn on. Go figure. Thanks for entertaining my retartedness.

This is interesting.
Is it a 'direct swap'?

Appears to be plug-n-play, but perhaps Maverik can give us a short review....

yep. All plug 'n play. I had the reverse camera already installed from my "modded" w203 COMAND system from a guy of this forum a couple years back. He put in the required boards required to make it work and then i ran all the wires and it worked like a charm. That is for about a month then all my buttons stopped working. So i had to rip apart my Original COMAND and then cannabalize it for parts to make the "new" version work. Well then i started having issues with my moBridge BT/iPod system i had so i thought it was the stereo finally just starting to give up on me after 2 years so i found a G class version on eBay for a bit of $$ and pulled the trigger. Only issue is i cant adjust my clock on it or sync my car clock with the h/u (which i also couldnt do in the other one i bought a few years back) but i read that this is a common issue and havne't found a solution to it yet. Heard some rumblings about needing STAR but no conclusions really.

But ya the camera still worked like a charm. Didn't have to change any of the wiring or anythhing. Just ripped it and threw the G-Class one in. only to realize i left my Nav disc in my other one, so after fixing all that i put it all back together and has worked great since.
