A real C55 oil dipstick...finally!
I've had a 2005 C55 for a number of years and like most everyone, I've used that sooo longgg
universal one that MB sells...a real PIA!
Five weeks ago I bought a 2011 C63 (W204) and decided to try the dipstick in my C55....it works great. So now I'm retiring my universal one and selling my C55 with the C63 dipstick in it for the buyer. Sorry, but I don't know the part number yet but may find a used one somewhere or get a new one!
Anyone want to buy my old dipstick for $10??

No big deal as I just checked the oil and have a new C63 dipstick on order.
I'll be out of town this Sat for 10 days and the car will be locked in the garage besides I still have the lloonnGGGG universal one if its needed. I may just cut it to the correct length and use it!!
Wish I knew this about 4 years ago!! Maybe it will let another owner or two know about the fix.

The dipstick stays in all the time and reads like a normal factory one should.
It doesn't touch the bottom of the oil pan but does have a red plastic tip and then two more above that showing the low and the high zone of where the oil should be. The dipsticks in all the X-63 engines are all the same and possibly all the 5.5 and 6.3 motors have the same block and pan configurations. The 6.3 is just bored some and has a stroker crankshaft in it. Ask a MB tech to verify this.
I believe the part number is 156 010 17 32 and can be seen/ordered from:

Has anyone else confirmed the C63 dipstick works for the C55 ?
It would be great if there was an OEM dipstick that could be used for the C55 instead of the oil measuring 'tool' thats available.
