w203 C55 AMG electrical problem
HI, I have a 2005 C55 AMG, recently my radio would randomly stop playing sound through the speakers, when your re-start the car, it all comes back, the other day i went to start my car and my ignition will turn on, and then shut off before i can crank it, and the radio shuts off at the same time, for it to start i have to put key in and crank it all the way over then it will start, and occasionally even then the radio will go out along with all of the needles on the guage cluster, turn signals will also not work, but cluster stays lit. if i power on the radio it works, but to get the guages back i have to re-start my car.. anyone had this issue before ?? please help?

You mean the ignition switch? ill be driving and the car remains running, mechanically it functions normally, still drives, goes into gear shifts fine, but the guages do not show anything, windows will not roll down, turn signals do not work, and radio has to be powered on again to work.

So yesterday i was messing with the ignition switch and key and starting it up/shutting it off, and i think i may have figured out the problem, if i hold the key tight when i turn it to the on position the ignition does not shut back off, i can get it to go through the full ignition cycle and get it started, if i dont hold the key tight in the ignition the problem persists, so im really thinking its either the ignition switch or the key that needs replacing, because when im actually driving and the clusters stop showing all of the symtoms of ignition not on are there, windows dont work, wipers, horn, radio, all of the functions that require key on dont work..
