Tranny Issue (...not jerk)

My car seems to have some problems with the tranny. I have an 02 car and I do have the jerk when going very slow.

Other than the jerk, my tranny is not smooth. When I slow down to around 20mph, and step on the throttle enough to make it go faster, yet gentle enough not to shift, my car doesn't respond to the throttle. the rpm stays in the 1800-2500 range and doesn't go up even though i am pressing on the throttle. i can't really describe it in words, but it is really annoying. for example, i am starting to reduce my speed for a red light, and i am down to around 20mph but the light turns green before i stop. then, logically, i start pressing the throttle. however, the car does not respond to the throttle and the rpm stays in that range stated above for a good 2-3 seconds before it starts to go up.

does anyone else experience this??

same here

I feel you on this issue, Dink. It seems to be the auto-tranny not reacting fast enough to correctly figure out what the driver intends to do w/ the throttle. This also happend to me on freeway as sometimes I would do a charge from 50-90mph, followed by immediate braking (saw police) back to 60mph ish. If I were to re-charge my car by depressing the throttle hard, the car would rev up really really slow. It appears that the gear remained in 4th all the way through my acceleration-deceleration transition w/o downshifting properly.

My only suggestion is use manual-matic whenever possible.
