why does the slk55 AMG get the 7G tronic transmission and not the C55???? thats illogical it's the same motor!!!

They will probably install the new 7G tranny in the 2nd year C55, that way the 1st year C55 owners will feel screwed. Typical MB, they think you will want to trade a 1 year old C55 for the new improved model and all that they are doing losing customers.
