Am trying to sort out a "slight" misfire in cylinder 1 thats causing vibration and slight but noticeable power loss. thus far have replaced the (1 month new) magnecor wires with new OEM wires and issue remains.
next will try to change the coil pack and plug, then prob have to take to shop to change the injector if the issue remains.
Question - current coil packs are the OEM originals at 117k miles and looks like a new OEM coil pack # 0001587803 is about $110 each OR can find Bosch/Meyle ones for half that or $50 bucks.
anyone with feedback about the Bosch/Meyle coil packs if you've installed them? at 117k miles the OEM ones have been very good quality, but Bosch parts generally have been good so wondering if saving a few bucks with the Bosch coil pack mixed with the old OEM ones is a smart idea...???

before you buy a new one swap it with another one and see if the problem follows it. Also have you read the spark plug in that cylinder?

Bosch is the OEM supplier - so if you purchase the dealer for $110 or a Bosch for $50 ... you're getting the exact same part. The Meyle is a great aftermarket choice, but not if the price is that close.

Kjb - thanks sounds like Bosch is the way to go for 1/2 the cost of OEM....
Insame1 - appreciate the suggestion on coil pack swap. i did just that and the slight misfire exists so assuming its not the coil pack.... next would be to check the plug and fuel injector assume.???

I would pull the plug and take a look at it first thing.

UPDATE on my cylinder 1 misfire
i pulled the cylinder 1 plugs and they looked OK (only 1 month old) on the porcelain end that goes into the boot but the other end screwing into the cylinder was pretty brown and not looking so good. i had a confirmed cylinder 1 misfire today and got a CEL and could not drive above 40 mph while coming back home from work on the high way which is what prompted me to replace the plugs as a last step.
i changed both cylinder 1 plugs tonight with new NGK Laser Iridiums and the misfire code has gone away, but the idle is still really rough and am expecting the misfire code to come back and CEL to come back,
if i changed the plug wires with new OEM, changed the coil pack with new OEM and changed the plugs with new NGKs and the issue still persists, what would be my next logical step to check??? The fuel injector?
should i go back to bosch oem Plugs???? the only misfire is cylinder 1.
ive never had in 10 years any misfires or issues so this is really frustrating to figure out.
any help would be appreciated! thx
