something is wrong. I own a c32 and a G35, and I gurantee you the C32 will win under every circumstance. You need to get something checked out, I've raced other G35's in my C32 as well and they never touch me by more then 3 or 4 car lengths. I had a friend of mine in the car today who also has a G35 and he drove my car and was much more impressed with the speed.

I lost to an SRT-4 today with exhaust and chip...you can't beat everything.

SRT-4

Dink and I saw several SRT-4s at the Carlsbad Raceway the other day. Stock, the C32 can take them. However, apparently the SRT-4's turbo can easily be swapped out for a better one (to the tune of a couple grand). The one so modded was running high 12s and low 13s! Even though it is a P.O.S. Dodge, built by the worst company possible. . . (wait, they also built my car!!!)

Vomit- a good friend of mine has an srt-4. We would race alot when his car was stock, and he couldn't touch me I'd always win by 2 or 3 car lengths and we'd stop about 80-90.

After he added a mopar turboback exhaust, took his cat off, and a simple blowoff valve... it turned, he beats me by about 2 car lengths now.

I lost to a G35

"Even my old school C43 has smoked a few G35's and 350Z's."

Word up, SpeedyBenz! I also dusted a couple of G35's and 350Z's with my OB C43 at Mira Mesa Blvd. (San Diego area), where there's a lot of potholes. I know for sure that their speed limiter is set lower than AMGs (definitely not 155 mph, although mine is > 155mph). We'll leave at that......

Interestingly enough, my mother works for GM and they tested the new CTS-V against C32, M3, & S4 at Fontana. Here's the result (#1 rank may be bias to CTS-V because GM sponsored the test, but I heard that CTS-V does kick ***):
1. CTS-V
2. S4
3. M3
4. C32

I wish I had my mom's job..

i love the G35 with titanium grey, 6 speed with GPS. best$ for a GT. can't find anything better, crossfire is the only one that is comparable to me. hmmm... which one should i get? crossfire looks nicer, G35 is faster hmm...

just dreaming
The Crossfire is getting a new engine option for 2005. You can get it with the S/C'd 6 from the C32. It will be look nicer and be faster.

I can't believe that!! Isn't the C32 engine handbuilt by AMG?? This is really bad news for AMG fans! AMG engine can now be seen in a Chrysler!!!

I hope that you're wrong.

AMG C43, 1999
One benefit will be the mainstream tuners of USA Iron may start development on performance parts forthe Crossfire which would then be available for AMG C32s also.

Good News/Bad News sort of thing I guess.

AND believe or not, the car is built by AMG factory...
not the other site that builds the normal Crossfire...

i dunno should i be happy or not as a strictly mercedes fan...
i strictly like mercedes only and mb always are the best to me, but now, chrylsre step over... i guess Mopar fans have this situation too, now they have to "love" mercedes/mitsubishi as well... i talked with a big time Mopar fan who have like 5 mopar cars at home, he gotta admit mb and mitsu are mopars now.

sigh... this is like a feeling of building a small nice house in hollywood... where hollywood as benz, and the small nice house is chrylser x mb vechivle

yes i know... but they gets 330 HP only...
but still as fast as a C32 because they are lighter.

if mopar tuners have performance parts for it, it will kinda benefit us, coz i'm sure their product will be much cheaper than european tuners

i love the crossfire, now i just feel so guilty that i kinda betrayed my beloved holistic mercedes benz...

I saw that the test was run in the rain and the M3 was said to be the fastest around the track. The S4 had nice grip but the more neutral M3 was more predictable. But yes the word from the test was that the C32 was plagued with terrible understeer in the wet and this left it in the rear of the pack.

The test day for the public was canceled and never re-scheduled.

Test I saw had the oval portion of the loop closed off due to rains. They did not want people risking 100+ mph speeds on the oval in the wet.

CTS-V looks impressive but some reviews equate it to an M5 not an M3. So While it seems good I would stick to a C55 over a CTS-V (the caddy interior is a serious draw back).

Track vs. real life

If it was important to me to win at the track, I would've bought a Porsche, and not any of the four cars listed.

Ask yourself this: How would each of the four listed cars fare in real life. . . couple of friends in the car, Dink's cup of coffee (or the cell phone) in one hand, driving in stop-and-go traffic? Really, is it more important to you to be able to say "my car kicks **** at the track" or is it more important to say "I like driving my car on a daily basis?"

People keep trying to pigeonhole the C32 into the "RacerX" category. It does not belong there any more than a poster of a Pontiac Aztek belongs on the ceiling above your bed.

I think you missed my point Vomit. THe track day was put on by GM to introduce their new car to company employees and then possibly to customers. This is NOT a test for the fastest or best car... it was just an introduction. It sure is safer to give unskilled drivers the keys to powerful new cars on a track and not on a twisting section of unknown road.

The results are not here to show the speed of a car but a track day sure can bring to light the dynamics of a car vs. its competitors. That is the beautity of back to back seat time with 4 cars on a closed course.

Looks like a test of the fastest/best to me!

If this was not a test to figure out which car was fastest/best at the track, what criterion were used to rank the cars 1 through 4? Looks? Price?

Whatever gobblygook reason General Motors gave for bringing other cars along TO A RACETRACK, their intent clearly was to show that the Caddy was fastest/best AT THE RACETRACK!

well lets review this again

So did I mention lap times? Did I talk about lap times by a specific driver in all 3 cars? For those items would be needed in order to rank cars by speed alone.

Now driver feel and feedback could be what the ranking was about.

So again the simple point remains that the controlled environment allows for back to back driving of multiple vehicles for a vast body of people. This is extremely common for the introduction of a new model for how else can you allow the press and company employees to experience the new vehicle you are proud to debut?

Then again if you talk to the people who put on the event (the race car drivers who take you on hot laps or the workers controlling the system) you can get their opinions on the cars without being pestered by GM workers. Most those people ranked the M3 #1 and the S4 #2

But had the even been held in the dry the C32 would have had a chance at the second spot but the 4wd of the Audi out paced the C32's intrusive ESP system.

No, you did not mention lap times, but you did mention the C32's "understeer," which would be pretty hard to notice just tooling around the track on a nice, slow, Sunday drive! The test was obviously performance-focused.

If it makes you feel better, however, I agree that you are right and I am wrong.

Seriously, what were the criterion for evaluation of the four cars?
