HOW TO: Replace your air filters (C55AMG)
This is very basic, not alot can go wrong unless you are really inexperienced at working on cars, this is the skill floor here.
You will need a torx t8 screwdriver and some new filters.
The first part is easy, open the bonnet and revel in the glory of 5.4L of hand built v8.

Now, the huge cover over the motor is actually your air intake, it comes off in two parts, the front part and the main part.
The front part is secured by a clamp onto a round right at the front, give it a little tug upwards and the front should loosen, then run your hand up the side and pull up to get another pop from each side, then the part should slide fowards, upwards and away to freedom.
Here is the frontmost round that the clip holds to:

And the other clips locate here to give you an idea of what you are working with:

This is the underside of the front part showing where the clips sit for reference:

Now the rear cover just pops directly up from four knobs gripped by some clamps here is one of the front ones:

Next you need to disconnect the ram air tubes, these are just a push fit and come apart in a very obvious way.

To get the main piece off you basically just pull up from each corner to loosen and the whole thing comes off in one rather large part, put a towel down so you dont scratch the top as you want access to the underside:

I have circled the clips that hold the cover to the motor in a lovely shade of green and the torx screws that open up the filter housings in a nice orange.
If you undo the torx screws you will find a rather nasty air filter , pull it out and replace it, clean the airbox out, put the replacement in the same way and put all the screws back in, you will need to do this twice as there are two filters.
I didnt take any more pics, but reassembly is just the reverse of pulling it apart, the only thing it to be gentle mounting the main part on until you are sure you have it lined up properly, it feels very obvious when you do.
Also, here is our motor with the cover off, the cover was a good idea.
