Do a search on "SL55" and limit it to this fourm (C32.) I just did the complete SL55 intake/aplitter mod last night. It was easy. $344 total cost from the dealer, including the SL55 front engine cover (via my shop at their discount.)

i did a search, it only has instructions of putting it together, not getting the intake out of the engine. i removed the screws on the air filters but it wont come off! did i need to do something else to remove the splitter?

Look at the new parts and it should be fairly straightforward.
You shouldn't have to open up the airboxes to replace the splitter. You've got to remove the hose clamps on the outer connections to the airboxes and disconnect them. You may want to also take the hoses off the splitter to make it easier to remove, but they are held on by adhesive so you'll need to work them off with a screwdriver.
The splitter has tabs on the top and bottom that you'll need to release and then it pulls right off.
Take a look at the new one and you'll see how it goes.
