I have a friend...blah, blah....

Go to a M3 forum...m3forum.com

I do NOT see much of, "M3 is the fastest thing on the planet!"

Your statement has as much substance as the stuff that you just wrote about.

Yeah, i know a guy who likes to eat carrots. It must be that ALL guys like carrots! Strange, i don't.

Assume...ya know what they say!

i also find that this mentality occurs among a much higher percentage in M3's drivers than even M5 drivers.
when i look at m5board, i see much more modesty and humbleness when talking about other cars, including C32's, than when M3 drivers talk about other cars

m3 drivers ALWAYS have an excuse!

"you would have got em in the twisties"
"even though hes faster, his interior is crappy"
like the M3 interior is that nice... lets be honest, its not.... not that mine is either...

man cant these ppl ever give due credit?!?!

usually they arent even reasonaly excuses, like i had something heavy in the car or i had extra passengers

im sorry.... but reading that comment really got me mad
its like a retard calling somebody stupid...

What part of my post do you not understand??? DO NOT GENERALIZE. Look on this forum for examples of C32 owners doing the same crap! There are good and bad owners.

Go to M3forum.com because that is where MOST m3 owners are!

Again, you are stereotyping M3 owners...you're making yourself look like an idiot...to be frank.

Get it, yet?!

This thread is pointless.

Theese cars are both awesome, I have driven them both and love them both, I picked the c32 because it is more exotic it's something you don't see everyday.

I personally have beaten a few m3s, so what... I can loose to them just as easily as I have beaten them.

i said MOST, if not all members of m3forums are also a member of bimmerforums, sorry if there was any confusion in the meaning

and i said the mentality is more common among m3 owners than c32 owners

i did not say that all m3 owners share this mentality, i said most

do you see any threads here of stock C32 owners claiming they beat m5's? i think i came across a thread were a c32 owner said he hung with one, but not beat

however, i CAN find thread on bimmerforums.com where m3 owners claimed to have passed an e55 and a sl55

ok, so you found a thread where an m3 owner was humble about a z06
its a z06, i can be humble about a modena and a viper srt-10 also

also, if you read the reply, some says "you can give him a run for his money"

speaking about a car as fast as the z06, that doesnt sound very humble to me

Not to intrude on you gals, but my 8-year-old found both of your posts to be very comical. You should make a cartoon!

Arghhh, here we go again.

Both cars are very close. Some examples, of each marque are weaker some are stronger.

In the end it is allways the nut behind the wheel.....and judging by these posts - in front of the keyboard.

Hey, what the hell's going on here? All I was asking about is straight line speed, not which car is better. Each person know what he/she wants from a car & what may be a better car for some person may be worse for another.

Here's track-challenge's test of the 2. It's typical of all the magazine tests we have down here as well. As you can see the M3 pulls away all the way. But I see the US tests have it much closer. I have a theory on that. It involves the lower power of the US spec M3 & traction at US venues.

http://www.track-challenge.com/comparison1d_e.asp?Car1=2&Car2=42

Acceleration M3 C32
0 - 40 Km/h 1,6 s 1,8 s
0 - 60 Km/h 2,5 s 2,7 s
0 - 80 Km/h 3,9 s 4,1 s
0 - 100 Km/h 5,2 s 5,5 s
0 - 120 Km/h 7,1 s 7,6 s
0 - 140 Km/h 9 s 9,9 s
0 - 160 Km/h 11,4 s 12,5 s
0 - 180 Km/h 14,7 s 15,6 s
0 - 200 Km/h 18,1 s 19,8 s

I am a mercedes owner but I have my money on the M3. I am 100% POSITIVE a stock automatic c32 vs a stock smg M3, the M3 will pull away and finish top dog.

Accept it, deal with it, and move on...don't linger in denial.

M&M, are you from South Africa? I live in the Vaal area. What club is it you are talking about? Please let me know. As far as the M3 vs C32 debate go: both are good cars. The only reason I chose a C32 is because I am a Merc fan and not a BM fan. And stop arguing about which is better. It's like politics, you will never convince each other.

Yes, I am from South Africa. Our club is some guys from the Audi club, Subaru club & BMW Driver's club & some Merc guys as well. I am not arguing which car is better, just which car is quicker in a straight line. What's your experiences?

Give me your e-mail address & I'll send you details of our club. We regularly go to events at Kyalami, Phakisa, Zwartkops, & to the drag strips like Gosforth, ODI, Tarlton, etc. We will be at Kyalami towartds the end of may. You should try taking your car around a former Formula 1 curcuit like Kyalami. You haven't lived until you've gone down the mineshaft
