Second question is how the heck do u take off quick in the car..A Z28 took off on me big time and an m3 as well...i was racing on Standard driving..traction off and on the triptonic or w/e..i would appreciate if one of u experienced drivers tell me details on how to get a quicker take off...
and last i was wondering why can i get the Sl55 intake y pipe setup...???
As far as losing to a Z28, it all depends which year of Z28 you are talking about. The last production ones were pretty quick (up to 330 HP) and would give any stock C32 a pretty good run. As far as the M3 goes, a good E46 M3 driver will be a tough match for a stock C32 from a stop. On anything above a 20 MPH roll, you will probably pull a stock M3 slowly, but some stock M3s are particularly fast, and some C32s are a little slower.
I can personally vouch for Evosport (they did my car 3,000 miles ago, and it runs awesome).
There are three mods which most people would agree are a good basic package, and then a few others that some people have done. The basic package is: (1) Larger pulley (ups supercharger boost to 17lbs, getting you another 30 HP or so), (2) ECU remap (gets you another 10-17 HP, depending on whether you use 91 or 93 octane, ups the redline, and removes the 155 MPH top speed limiter
) and (3) the SL55 "Y" splitter, which allows more air into the C32 airboxes, and gets you another 5-7 HP.I have also done, and would highly recommend (especially if you have more than 20K or so miles on your C32), upgrading your plugs and wires (Evosport also does this, or you can do it yourself-see my recent posts), swapping the stock 62 lb battery out for the 31 lb Optima, and upgrading your air filters.
Others have done headers and other exhaust modifications.
One of the beauties of the C32 is the ability to easily get more HP out of it without significant downside (except for the cost of the mods). Don't worry, you will stomp M3s and Z28s very soon!
