Question What X pipe should I use for TDE?

I've been searching and searching. I'm going to have my secondary cats removed and resignator deleted. I'm planning to do true dual exhaust with an X pipe but search after search, I can't find a recommendation for the X pipe it's self or a source to buy one. Should I just go with what ever the shop has laying around and fits or can someone point me in the direction of something that has worked well for them?

Found a local shop that is going to remove the secondary cats and resignator, add X pipe and weld the replacement pipe for $150. Seems fair.

Look up the difference between an X-pipe and H-pipe. Supposedly our motors are better served by an H-pipe.

I was just reading about this. The X pipe seems to reduce droning but the H pipe helps with back pressure. I'm not sure what I should go with now...

From what I can tell, an X-pipe is for motors that need or like to rev to make power. An H-pipe seems to suit motors like ours that make power down low and don't need to rev to do it. I'd personally only go the X-pipe route after cams, a port and polish on the heads, long-tube headers and a true dual exhaust since all of that would move the powerband up too.

I am unfortunately about 5 years late to the C55 party. I remember when this section was all a buzz with ideas and posts. Thank you for explaining, I'm going to have to decide what to do. All of the w211 e55 guys went X pipe because their motors aren't NA and the X makes sense. I'll talk with the shop and see what they think. Most of the YouTube videos I've seen of C55's have an X but I want it to what sounds and works best. Thanks for the advice. I'll post videos when I get it done!

Talking Reduced HP loss from mods

Hello, i recently did a secondary cat deletes and resonator was removed; it seems like my car lost quite a bit of power or it doesnt run like a beast like it used to, it seems like my c230k is faster or accelerates faster; should i put my catalytic convertor back on, or should i get a magnaflow convertor, or a flowmaster on. Please let me know; what i should do- i want my car to be fast again :/
